I saw the idea for these painted pumpkins a few years ago in a Better Homes & Gardens magazine…or was it Woman’s Day? I can’t remember. Anyway, I rushed right out and got some “Funkins” (foam pumpkins) to make my own. I wasn’t about to spend all that time painting real pumpkins that would rot after a few weeks. Of course, the Funkins sat in the bag for at least a year before I got around to painting them. So here they are. I painted them with acrylic paint, outlined the facial features with a black sharpie then sprayed them with clear polyurethane. I think they’re quite cute and look forward to bringing them back out every year. Just thought I’d share.
